In a self determining act, I’ve come to the decision that I want my name to better reflect who I am and what I do. I’d appreciate if you call me Jim from now on, since it’s an abbreviated version of the name I’ve always been known as to those that have loved me all of my life.

Jim is actually stylized as JXM, which are the initials of the name I am adopting. If you can muster its pronunciation, the name is Jengo X. Mjenzi. The name is Swahili, which reflects my evolving beliefs related to Pan-Africanism or whatever you want to call the subject of a more united People of African Lineage.

I understand that my name will take some time getting used to, but I’d appreciate your support and respect for my decision going forward.
